$2,419.00$4,349.00 inc.GST

Designed, machined and assembled in Greeley Colorado, the new XTR III line of riflescopes featuring new reticle designs and enhanced field-of-view. Inspired by tactical and competition shooting, precision and reliability are at the core of the XTR III line of optics. Available in a 3.3-18x50mm and 5.5-30x56mm, both models are built with a 34mm body tube for increased strength and extended adjustment range. Elevation adjustments up to 120 MOA on the 3.3-18X50mm will take the 6.5 Creedmoor past one mile. Expanded side parallax adjustment on both models allows fine-tuning focus at shorter distances.

Premium glass and optical improvements, including a smaller eyepiece signature and larger eye box, provide best-in-class field-of-view, deeper depth of focus and outstanding light transmission. The new Special Competition Reticle (SCR) 2 MIL reticle features a gridded “Christmas tree” design, allowing extremely fast and accurate windage and elevation compensation and clear communication with spotters. SCR Mil and SCR MOA reticles are also available.

Just added this scope to my Burris and Steiner collection. What’s in the box – Scope, Sun shade, flip up caps, battery for the illuminated reticle, inter changeable windage turret, manual, 2mm Allen key and lense cleaning cloth. As with all the Burris range the finish on the scope is second to none and a testament to the QA in the factory in Greeley Colorado. The scope leaves the factory with the capped windage turret installed, but you have the option of changing it with the supplied larger exposed turret. Both of the turrets have very audible and tactile clicks with the elevation turret offering 26 mils of internal elevation. Both turrets have an aggressively knurled knobs, so no matter the shooting conditions you will have a positive grip that will not slip. My scope has the illuminated SCR 2 Mil reticle that can be set to either Red or Green depending on conditions and preference. The reticle itself is a Christmas tree style reticle and may appear busy, however it is not obstructive. The centre is open with a small cross that does not cover your target at any range. The ocular lense has a locking ring, so that once you have made your adjustments you can lock it in place and forget it. I found the magnification ring to be tight or hard to turn, but this is a new scope and will become easier in time, having said that I usually fit a throw lever to my scopes. Burris and Steiner scope are shipped from the factory set at 20 MOA below centre, if you do not have 20 MOA base on your rifle, you will find that your initial shots will be high, this is well explained in the owners manual. I have not had the opportunity to zero the scope in and test it out in the field, but testing the clarity throughout the magnification range it proves to be crystal clear and with the generous eye relief giving crisp edges through the scope. This is another quality US made product that is punching well above its price point. I will do another review once I have zeroed it in & had it on the range.
