The Single Shot was introduced in 1883 by Winchester using a Browing patent. This firearm originated as an opponent to the Sharps and adopts the main features: locking system, lever and firing pin that disconnect at the first movement of the firearm. Actual production was between 1885 and 1920. The firearm had great success with the shooters at the time that target shooting was really popular sport, thanks to the vast range of different calibers and aiming and release systems. Nowaday, as in the past, most hunters prefer to have a singleshot mechanism that is simple and reliable. Above all they are attracted to the challenge of a one only possibility.
