04/06/2018

Beretta Australia is excited to announce the signing of West Australian Caleb Harris as a Beretta Australia-sponsored shooter.

An up-and-comer in the discipline of practical pistol shooting, Harris has already achieved great successes in his short career, including Gold in the Production Division of the SSAA Western Australian State Steel Challenge, Open Division Master Grade Gold and Open Division 1st Overall at IPSC Western Australian State Titles and winning Overall Centrefire and the SSAA Western Australian Steel Challenge State Titles.

And just as recently as the first of April, Harris, competing with his newly acquired Beretta M9A3 pistol, qualified as a Grand Master at the IPSC Nationals in Little River Victoria, achieving Gold in the A-Grade Production Class, as well as capturing a Stage Win, Placing 6th Overall in the class. A fantastic result against the best IPSC shooters Australia has to offer!

Caleb Harris

“It is great to see such a young shooter being able to pick up one of our handguns and bring home such incredible results after only a few weeks of ownership. It’s a true testament to Caleb and the Beretta pistol range”, Beretta Brand Manager Lorenzo Scribani Rossi was recently quoted as saying.

The Beretta M9A3 pistol that Harris has been competing with is the latest iteration of the Beretta ‘92 Series’ of pistols. The ’92’ is one of the most well-known and trusted pistols in the world, matching winning accuracy with legendary reliability to serve countless military and law enforcement units for 40+ years, the world over.

The feedback from Harris regarding the M9A3 reliability was splendid.

“Having the M9A3 for only a few weeks was a daunting experience to say the least. After three thousand rounds between each of the two guns with no stoppages, I was more than confident with the platform’s reliability. And at no point during the match did I have any doubt that would plague my mind on a course of fire, or have to put in-place strategies to combat a malfunction.”

After obtaining Grand Master status, Harris went onto say: “The accuracy I have seen out of the Beretta M9A3 is the level that I would expect out of a custom-built handgun.”

As a side-note, Beretta Australia was also proud to attend the IPSC Nationals with our team of sponsored shooters that also included Mario Mori and Harlen Anderson.

“This was the first time we attended the IPSC Nationals and it was great to meet all the competitors and have the opportunity to see what the Australian IPSC shooting world looks like. We will keep supporting this event and working with our brand ambassadors to keep tailoring our products for their needs.” Lorenzo Scribani Rossi added, “The future of pistol shooting for fans of Beretta looks very bright thanks to the likes of Caleb and the team.”
