Quality: Very Good, Function: Excellent , Value: Excellent
I have had STEINER 7 x 50 binoculars for 25 years and they have performed extremely well in tough hunting and professional use. Steiner have great after sale service.
When the 8 x 30 LRF Night Hunters came out I purchased a pair. The 30 mm objectives were a concern, I doubted the light gathering ability, but these 8 X 30 s equal or exceed my 7 x 50 s in any light.
The Sports Auto focus is the way to go. Close up focus within 10m when observing Wildlife or surveillance is slower. They are light and very comfortable to hold and look through.
The Range finder: very good. These are intuitive, accurate and fast. As with most LRF a good rest is required when ranging longer distances. The continuous ranging function is addictive and battery hungry.
They have made my natural range estimation ability much better, when I have to take a quick shot.
We will see how these perform over the next quarter of a century.
