Beretta Australia is proud to announce the signing of Mario Maori to Team Beretta as a sponsored shooter and brand ambassador for the new Beretta APX pistol. Mario will be competing with the new APX in the Production Division at the Australian IPSC Nationals in 2018, along with representing Beretta at other firearm-related events.
Apart from being a former National Champion and Grand Master, Mori’s achievements include selection to the Victorian State IPSC and Australian National Teams – the latter which led him to represent Australia around the globe, gaining accolades and respect from the shooting public and competitors alike.
Mori, who has been integral in the testing of the APX pistol upon its arrival in Australia, has previously noted that, “The APX is fantastic to shoot! We tested it with over 800 rounds and had not 1 malfunction, and all that with no cleaning between shots! Not a lot of guns will do that. Overall it is very accurate, a pleasure to shoot and can be shot all day”.
The APX is Beretta’s first, full-size, striker-fired pistol, supplementing the traditional line of hammer fired 92’s. Designed with modularity in mind, the APX features replaceable lower frames and grips allowing the shooter to find their perfect fit. With customisable sights, colours and other performance options, the APX is perfectly targeted for the competition shooter.
Beretta Australia Senior Product Manager Clemente Scribani Rossi explained, “It’s an absolute pleasure to have someone with Mario’s experience on-board to compete and promote the new APX. While Beretta as a brand is rich in history and tradition, the new APX is a revolutionary pistol for our company and thus required someone with a high level of knowledge and experience to properly showcase its capabilities. Mario’s competition history and Grand Master status is a perfect fit for the APX.
Scribani Rossi went on to say, “While Beretta Australia continues to be heavily involved in competitive shotgun events around the country, the launch of the new APX seemed the perfect catalyst to start focusing on specialty pistol events starting with the IPSC Nationals”
Beretta Australia has also gotten on-board as a Stage Sponsor for the 2018 IPSC Nationals, being held this year at SSAA Eagle Park Range in Little River, Victoria. With a retail stand and a team of shooters for the first time, Beretta will be showcasing its current and new pistol offerings to the over 500 IPSC competitors and spectators in attendance.
